Adjustable Throttles
The damko adjustable throttle was specially developed for marine applications. It represents an advanced development of the damko segment disk valve. The installed length is kept as short as possible, since space is usually very limited on board of ships. The cross section is adjusted manually. Adjustable throttles are preferably used in cooling circuits of the ship’s engine.

Getting volume flows under control with damko orifice plates. The damko orifice plate is based on the long lasting experience made with damko segment plate valves. With the diagram, the orifice plate can be varied infinitely during the actual operation using an Allen wrench. It can i.e. be used for setting temperatures in a pipe system. The damko orifice plate also makes it possible to easily set pump pressures according to a given characteristic line. Can also be used as a shut-off valve in a special design
Abdampf = exhaust steam Heizdampf = heating steam Speisewasser zum Kessel = feed water for the boiler
Example: Exhaust vapours valve on the de-aerator dome Setting the exhaust steam amount of the exhaust vapours valve is purely a matter of feeling if you don't have the appropriate measuring equipment. 0.5 % of the feed water amount to degas must be dissipated as a steam-gas mixture across the roof. For a degasification performance of 10 t/h, 50 kg/h of steam would have to leave the de-aerator to make sure that all of the decocted gases are carried away by the steam. The calculated amount of steam can be gathered from the diagram enclosed. The adjustment at the orifice plate is performed using an Allen wrench. The degree of adjustment in revolutions can also be gathered from the diagram. The damko orifice plate can also be used for easily setting pump pressures according to given characteristic lines.
